eResearch SA is looking for a Data Consultant to work with research clients to develop requirements specifications to achieve the goals of the Australian National Data Service (ANDS) and eResearch SA. A key concept in the role of the eResearch Data Consultant is the development of an Australian Data Commons - a national data management environment in which Australia's research data will reside in a cohesive network of research repositories, with the discovery of this research made possible via the ANDS discovery service, Research Data Australia.

Swinburne: Research Project Officer
Brief Description: Swinburne Research Project Officer ($62,668 - $67,649) plus 17% superannuation This position has become available for an enthusiastic and capable person.  This is an opportunity to be involved in the development of significant initiatives related to research quality, policy and procedures.  You will work closely with the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) developing and executing projects in key research strategic planning and management areas.  
In this role you will coordinate projects and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to develop the necessary strategic planning processes. This will include determining and prioritising projects related to improvement of strategic planning, corporate governance and strategic support in the research portfolio.
Experience in project management, ideally in a university or other knowledge intensive environment will be well regarded.  
This position may be offered full time or fractional full time, and is initially offered for a fixed term but with the expectation that it will be ongoing.

Swinburne - Research Admin Officer
Brief Description: Research Administration Officer ($49,056 -$53,921) plus 17% superannuation This position seeks a motivated person with excellent database skills. In this role you will provide effective research administration support for the Swinburne Research Office.  Primarily supporting the research grants team, you will undertake day to day research administration matters, as well as contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes and procedures to support the transition of paper-based processes to an online environment.  This includes maintaining key research information systems for administration and reporting.  To be successful, you will have the ability to work as part of a collaborative work team as well as excellent time management skills and the ability to be flexible with work priorities.  You will also have an interest and aptitude for using databases and be able to provide a high level of administrative services. This is a full time, ongoing position.

UTS Manager, Research Performance Monitoring - HEW 9
Brief Description: Overview: 
The Manager, Research Performance Monitoring is responsible for the collection and analysis of research performance data and indicators for a range of internal and external reporting requirements and to develop policy and strategic planning responses to them. The Manager develops information systems to facilitate research management within the University and to ensure quality assurance objectives are met.
The Manager, Research Performance Monitoring reports to Executive Manager, Planning and Operations.  The Research Reporting Officer and Excellence of Research In Australia (ERA) Data co-ordinator report to the Manager, Research Performance Monitoring.  From time to time, the Manager, Research Performance Monitoring will need to supervise contract staff bought in for specific data improvement tasks.
The Manager, Research Performance Monitoring will work with the staff of RIO to improve the use of research data infrastructure and streamline the operations of the office across all teams.
The Manager, Research Performance Monitoring collaborates with staff from a variety of administrative units across the University to develop and streamline interactions between research data infrastructure and other UTS enterprise systems.  These include the Planning and Quality Unit, Financial Services Unit, UniversityGraduateSchool, Information Technology Division, UTS International and the UTS Development Office.  Similarly, the Manager, Research Performance Monitoring works closely with the Associate Deans Research and equivalent and faculty research managers and administrators in all faculties to ensure that processes for recording and using research data are embedded in UTS practice.
The Manager, Research Performance Monitoring works with vendors to augment the use of research data infrastructure and enhance features useful to UTS. 
The Manager, Research Performance Monitoring will maintain strong communication lines with federal departments and authorities to whom UTS reports in order to ensure accurate interpretation of data collection specifications.  
Salary range:
$83,749 to $87,736 pa.  Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution

Overview:

The Office for Research supports research management, development and research policy formulation within the University. This position has been created in response to a rapidly growing research profile on the Gold Coast campus.
 
The role: 
You will lead the Research Grants Team, responsible for the pre and post award administration of all research grants and fellowships.  You will also manage the Gold Coast campus offices of the Office for Research, which includes staff from the grants team as well as the Research Ethics and Research Development teams.  Regular travel to the Nathan campus will be required.
 
The person: 
You will enjoy supervising and managing staff, and thrive under the challenge of a varied, high volume workload and competing deadlines. 
You'll also be a skilled contract negotiator and administrator who enjoys solving problems.  You'll need excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Your experience in research grant administration, presenting workshops and critiquing documents will be well regarded.
 
Salary range:
$68,143 - $76,659 per annum.  Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution $79,728 - $89,692 per annum.

Research Outputs Liaison Officer (Fixed-term) - University of New England (Closed)

The Research Outputs Liaison Officer will assist University faculty to contribute digital copies of their research publications to the University's online research repository, at http://e-publications.une.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Index. The officer will actively promote the repository to Faculty staff, and provide training and support in contributing to it.
The officer will be employed in the Library's Electronic Services Development Department and work in collaboration with the Research Services Directorate.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of up to 24 months, with the possibility of further appointment subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
